The So and So Poetry Series will host its second Raleigh reading this Saturday, May 16 at 8:00 pm at Morning Times. The series started in Boston as a side project of poet and Raleigh-ite Chris Tonelli and is now hosted in collaboration with the Raleigh Quarterly. The So and So made its Raleigh debut in February to a packed house—by poetry reading standards at least. This time around, featured poets are Justin Marks, kathryn l. pringle, and Chris Vitiello.
In addition to providing a local venue for poets of varying degrees of acclaim, each So and So features artistic representations (broadsides) of the evening’s poems. Saturday will feature artwork by AdAm Peele and though the details are a secret (there is a rumor about his medium of choice, but we won’t propagate it here), they are sure to be worth seeing.
So, whether it’s poetry or artwork that catches your fancy, it’s worth coming out if for no other reason than to show Beantown that we Southerners can appreciate a good poem as much as anyone.
