Announced yesterday afternoon in a press release, Hibernian Company, the parent company of clubs and restaurants Solas, Hibernian and the Diner, announced the purchase of Hillsborough St. and Raleigh mainstay the Jackpot.
At a press conference, Naill Hanley, the owner of Solas commented, “We’re very excited to pair the business acumen Hibernian Company has with Jackpot’s longstanding reputation for….we’ll I’m not exactly sure what Jackpot’s reputation is.”
Hanley was quick to outline both short and long-term improvements Jackpot will experience in the coming months. Among the improvements is a new neon sign, platinum-studded membership cards and a VIP table area. He also promised to clean and fully rid the layers of cigarette smoke found caked around the club. “We’ve actually been trying to purchase the Jackpot for a while now – however these guys don’t have e-mail much less an entry in the Yellow Pages,” continued Hanley. “Turns out they were out back in the Green House playing foosball.”
Reaction has been mixed among Raleigh’s going out crowd. Patrons of the Jackpot couldn’t be reached for comment – however were heard to be drowning their sorrows at the Goat.

What day is it? ![]()
HaHaHa… Very nice!
Hilarious…
nice one, new raleigh.
I personally am excited! Not a big fan of crappy bars, drinks are too expensive to drink them in a dump… Hopefully they will do something with the place that is not gross. They should tear the front building off and renovate the old house and make it the bar, with live music!
Um, Erock… what is today?
If this was a true story I would die a little inside.
wait, this isn’t really happening?? oooh! I get it…
I got 20 phone calls!
Good one !:)
With The Rockford closing this might not be too far from the truth :(
