Sound Tribe Sector 9, which could essentially be classified as an electro-jamband, will play the Downtown Raleigh Amphitheater on Wednesday August 25th, 2010. They played Koka Booth back in 2008. The band is known for their sprawling electro albums and remixes and don’t sound as good recorded as they do live (in my humble opinion). Should be a good show for the new pavilion and definitely the better of the booked shows thus far. The opening acts, when announced, have the potential to add a bit more jazz to the bill (they are playing with RJD2 a few days before).
The “Boutique Amphitheater” now has a listing on Live Nation’s website and there’s also a new rendering.
