Sparkcon Kick Off Art Show

As many in Raleigh may know, SparkCon will bombard the streets, squares and venues of Downtown Raleigh on the weekend of September 21-23.  Vintage 21, a newly designed space (rehab by Tonic Design) in the warehouse district, former Jillian’s space, will open it’s doors to an Open House this Sunday and then host an Open Art Exhibition, together with Artspace and CAM as a preview for ArtSpark.

Vintage21, co-hosted with Artspace and the Contemporary Art Museum, will be hosting an Open Art Exhibition. Participating in artSPARK is a great way to get some free exposure AND this event is part of the SPARK CON conference which is all about showcasing and nurturing the creative community here in the Triangle. Artists can submit original art, photography, design, and sculpture to be displayed through the end of October.
ENTRY DETAILS:
• Registration paperwork must be submitted with artwork, and is available at Vintage 21 or on the SPARK CON site (also attached for your convenience).
• Artwork is due at Vintage 21: 117 S. West Street on either Wed. 9/12 (4-6pm for registered SparkCon participants, 6-9pm for non-registrants) or Thurs. 9/13 (5-9pm for everyone)
• First come, first serve - until we run out of room!
• $5 entry fee (1 entry only per artist); participation is FREE for K-12 students!
• All work must be ready to hang and artists must participate in hanging their own artwork.
• Artwork must not be larger than 72” x 72” and no more than 100 lbs.
• Sculpture accepted on a limited basis. Artists must provide pedestal for sculptures.
• Sales handled by artists (no commission taken).
