The long-awaited opening of Raleigh's craft beer store, Tasty Beverage is drawing to an end. The store will swing wide its doors tonight, Monday, August 22, from 6 - 8 p.m., giving the public and friends a sneak peek before its official, grand opening this weekend. Helping Tasty celebrate their soft opening, will be 10 breweries providing free samples including:
Tasty Beverage received its ABC license a week ago, allowing nearly everything else to rapidly fall into place. Located in the Warehouse District's Depot Station, Tasty is a project by two young beer drinkers. For more on Tasty Beverage and what you can expect to find on sale, read New Raleigh's here.
On Tasty's taps will be Terrapin TomFoolery, Bell's Oberon, Victory Hop Devil, Mother Earth's Endless River, New Holland Dragon's Milk and Heavy Seas' Davy Jones Lager. Free pint glasses of each brewery are available to those who purchase one of the beers on tap.
It is very exciting at the opening of a devoted, craft beer store in downtown Raleigh. Tasty's preview will start tonight, Monday August 22 at 6pm.

This sounds great. Will have to try and stop by tonight.
Anyone know if they are carrying Gluten Free beer?
Please please please be less $$$ than Peace. Their prices are out of control.
yes! they will have some gluten free beer!
Pricing under Peace will be key to their success.

Peace’s prices are just all over the place. Some things are horribly overpriced, and some things stupidly underpriced (not that often, but it happens). From what I’ve heard Tasty will let you break sixers and buy by the bottle. I wish more stores would do this, as I might not want to buy an entire 6. Sure, lots of stores have a small selection of build-a-six singles, but I like it when I can break any six. Makes it much more cost effective for me.
Anyone know if they have will have gluten free beer on draft, or just bottles of Redbridge?
So far the only one I have liked is the two kinds they sell in pint bottles at Whole Foods, for $7 each. (Ouch.) They are in a rack at the end of the gluten free dry goods aisle. I haven’t liked any of the ones in six-packs in the cold section (such as Bard’s), and by liked I mean if you have one, you want another.
But on draft, now that would be a new (and long-awaited) experience.
did line ever move last night? tons of people showed up at 6pm, but not many fit inside at a time.
@Doug – There’re definitely a bottle shop first and the taps are more supplemental. The 8 or so taps they have are rotating, and it sounds like they’ll be primarily local. I’m sure if there’s a great tasting gluten free beer that they want people to try, they’ll do it.
@wallabee…just saw a build your own 6er option at Food Lion of all places haw haw haw. $8.99.
