The Beehive Collective is one of our favorite local organizations whose mission is to "to pollinate community giving in Raleigh and inspire new women leaders." The group consists of a handful of activists (mostly women) who continue to do great things for the Raleigh community. They put on fabulous events a few times each year to help raise money for their group so they can continue to support the causes they believe in.
The group has put together a few of those events, this wekeend at Kings Barcade in Downtown Raleigh. Not only are they reviving the Barrister's Ball, which was a staple seven years running at the old Kings on McDowell Street, but there's also a cabaret drag show and a clothes swap.
The Barrister's Ball returned in 2008 at Fourteen (which was located where Kings is now) but the last time it was held at Kings was in 2006. There's no warehouse behind the new Kings for the after party but I'm sure the mischief will continue long after 'last call' in some, possibly secret, location.
