The Collectors Gallery is set to reopen the weekend of Raleigh Wide Open 4, bringing premiere fine craft to Fayetteville Street. Kudos to gallery co-owners Megg Rader, former Executive Director of Artspace, and Rory Parnell, former Director of Raleigh Contemporary Gallery, for bringing two new venues to our main street in the past year. This latest business venture is in addition to The Mahler fine art gallery, which opened last May on Fayetteville Street. See the press release below for details on the preview opening on Friday October 23rd from 7-9 and to learn more about the focus and artists represented by the new Collectors Gallery.
The Collectors Gallery will re-open its doors in its new location at The Pavilions at City Plaza, 443 Fayetteville, downtown Raleigh, on Saturday, October 24th in conjunction with Raleigh Wide Open 4 celebrating the new City Plaza.
Celebrate with a Preview Open House, Friday evening, October 23, from 7-9 p.m. Enjoy champagne and a sneak peak at the new gallery space!
The Collectors Gallery will be a unique and distinctive shopping destination (and online store) focusing exclusively on North Carolina fine craft including pottery, glass, wood, sculpture and jewelry. The Collectors Gallery seeks to celebrate and promote the rich heritage of North Carolina craft.
“By far the most exciting part about re-opening The Collectors Gallery is the new focus on North Carolina fine craft”, gallery co-owner Rory Parnell said.
Favorites that customers have come to know at The Collectors Gallery including Marsha Owen, Larry Downing, John Geci, Courtney Martin, Tom Spleth, Rob Levin, Scott Summerfield, Daniel Johnston and Gary Beecham will continue to be featured in the new gallery with a greater selection of their work.
Joining these unbelievable artists are some equally talented potters, jewelers, ceramicists, glass blower, weavers and wood carvers including . . . Gertrude Graham Smith, Ken Sedberry, Andree Richmond, Jenny Lou Sherburne, Mary Ann Scherr, Sandra McEwen, Betty McKim, Nancy Fleming, and Kenny Pieper . . .to name a few!
