The First Friday Agenda for November 2nd

It’s November’s first Friday and we have been busy with events all week, so excuse our tardiness.

Don’t forget about our Visual Map and Guide of Raleigh’s Exhibitions.  The most complete guide of its kind in Raleigh.

Flanders has two collections of rich paintings- Diane Feissel and Sharon Lee Hart are featured in an inaugurating show for Flanders 311 their new location at 311 Martin St. Also some rich mixed media by Scott Upton at their Sea Board location.

Lump has some slick work by Mark Robinson.  Consistently offering some of the most interesting work downtown has to offer, Lump looks promising tonight. Robinson’s Teenbeat 432 is a show of Robinson’s designs for his Teenbeat record label.  Minimal and stark, the show should be invigorating to design and visual art fans alike.

Rebus works continues to show Mario Marazan’s brilliant structures and illustrations. If you haven’t seen this yet, please check it out.

Morning Times is hosting the Dix Hill show. A photography exhibit of images taken on the campus.  10% of all proceeds go to friends of Dorothea Dix

The Fish Market is hosting work of students who traveled abroad to Ghana. This on going program has been sending design students to the country for years to study local craft techniques and the country’s rich culture.  The products of that trip will be on display in the student gallery.

Artspace in its looming mainstream dominance has a few new shows and the last night of the Time based Media show.  Toni Cappel looks to have some interesting portraiture that will be opening tonight.

FM will offer up the Friday party as usual, Raleigh LaRoche, is not fully described by their collateral, but looks in line with all of the stylish shows they have had lately.

Designbox- is hosting a product release party for David Eichenberger and Paul Freidrich- both of which have their graphics printed on Design Boxes new iPod Cases.
