What do you get when you put members of The Rosebuds, Schooner, and Pox World Empire together? The Flute Flies, a new band that formed to make tracks for the benefit CyTunes and now have three tracks on their myspace page.

As Grayson over at the Indy mentions, “I sorta wish more bands tried to combine the genres the band’s MySpace mentions: Electroacoustic, black metal, healing & easy listening.” I agree.

Hatched in the summer of 2008, The Flute Flies’ sole mission in life is to live up to the standards of their master and ultimate music lover, Sir Cy Rawls. In a lab deep within the entrails of Durham, NC, Zeno Gill, Ivan Howard, and Reid Johnson came up with an idea that could save the world.
