To hear Merge Record’s press release tell it, Stuart McLamb lived his twenties in absolute chaos from lost love, drunken days and jail time (we figure it was measured in hours)- to us that sounds all too familiar- parallel to the paths of ourselves and others who sit firmly between gen X and the mellinnials- meandering and in search of meaning. Through those trials McLamb wrote The Love Language’s 2009 debut and found that folks well beyond Raleigh loved the way he told his story.

BJ Burton

Tomorrow the new album comes out, and with it a cleaned up sound brought by the tedious production work of BJ Burton, particularly notable because the lo-fi charm of the first disc bordered on the extreme.  The two have been inseparable through the process of constructing the album, sarcastically proclaiming their own marriage through their Facebook relationship status.  We have only heard the track below Update: Stream Below. Already we are excited to hear a more polished production and clarity to Stu’s voice and the instrumentation.  Stream Heart to Tell below.  Pick up The Love Language - Libraries tomorrow at School Kids.

This Saturday, July 17th The Love Language hosts its album release show.
New Raleigh and Merge Records are giving away a pair of tickets for that show. Enter Here.

    right on beelzebub!

love language has nothing on real bands like hinder and nickelback.

we need more of a real SCENE like Charlotte has. i mean they get amazing regulars like breaking benjamin and three days grace.

indie bands like that are fags and gays and liberals.
