Raleigh, I take back everything I said about you last week. I thought you weren’t worthy of booking good shows anymore. I thought you had lost it (except for Neko Case). I thought you were going to lose out to DPAC. But, you have surprised me. You have booked The Decemberists, Modest Mouse, Kings of Leon and The Walkmen (okay, it’s Cary, but still) and now The National, all within a week or so. (Oh yeah and Coldpleh whatever).
You’ve stepped up to the plate Raleigh. Good job guys. Seriously, good job. The National are a fabulous band, on album and in concert (Walnut Creek was good, but Cradle was much better). Meymandi is a perfect venue for them and I can’t wait to see who the openers are. I’ll take Band of Horses, Fleet Foxes, or The Rosebuds but I won’t be picky.
Update: Meymandi says that they have no information on the show although their site says they are hosting the show. Cradle’s website says Lincoln, as does Lincoln, so it’s probably Lincoln. Guess The National playing Meymandi was a bit too good to be true. Guess we’ll have to settle for Lincoln.
Meymandi Hall or Lincoln Theatre (more than likely Lincoln)
Tickets on Sale Friday February 13th at Noon (same day as Kings and Walkmen) for $22.
