The Packway Handle Band at the Pour House

Tonight you have the chance to see a great young bluegrass band at the Pour House. Packway Handle Band won the 2008 award for Athens’ Best Americana Band. New Raleigh is giving away two tickets to see them.

Packway’s ability to blend traditional bluegrass with utterly inappropriate covers is truly one of my favorite aspects about them. I am also a big fan of their four-part harmonies and the way they dance around two tightly “packed” condenser microphones, it is a wonderful sight.

Expect an energetic show that is both classic in presentation and modern in content. New Raleigh’s audience was very excited for the Avett Brothers, and Packway Handle Band should appeal to that same audience. Hear them here.
