Now that the NFL playoffs have started, it’s time to figure out what you are going to cook for your Super Bowl party. If it was up to The Pit, one of the most successful restaurants in Downtown Raleigh, you’d be having Ribs, BBQ and Sweet Potato Fries.

Pitmaster Ed Mitchell will be on The Today Show on CBS on Friday to show off his popular ribs for a Super Bowl tailgating special called: Super Bowl Countdown: Tailgating party dishes. With all the national love in the past few years and previous spots on both Bobby Flay and The Today Show, it’s no wonder locals keep coming back.

The PR Machine for The Pit seems to have more people working it than actually work at the restaurant. But, it helps that the ribs are great.

    Butter!?  I think you mean pork fat.  *French* food is drenched in butter.
