Give Life
The Triangle Area American Red Cross has just issued an urgent call for the donation of all blood types, as levels have dropped crucially low. “While temperatures and fuel prices rise this summer, the American Red Cross reports that the blood inventory levels have fallen so low it is unable to sufficiently meet the demand of local hospitals. While there is a constant need for all blood types, donors with type O positive, O negative, A positive and A negative are asked to take an hour of time to help save a life by donating as soon as possible at a drive location near them.“ The summer is consistently a difficult time for blood drives because with vacations and schools being out, many people forget to work this in to their schedules.
In the Triangle Area, the Red Cross has 4 donation centers available to the public to schedule a donation appointment to help save lives. People interested in donating should call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE to find out the locations and hours of operation of the center closest to them. You may also go on line to www.givelife.org.
