I can’t wait for this construction to start coming together. I pass that section of Peace St. every day on my way to work and it definitely needs some TLC in the form of cool new architecture.
It will be a lovely addition to landscape with the giant, white PS2 in the background:)
@ Tyler
Secretly i have always thought the same thing about that building, but in a good way.
@DT - oh yes! In the best way imaginable!
If ever a dystopic 1970s style sci-fi movie is filmed in Raleigh, the Archdale Building would surely have to be the HQ of the evil corporate/government entity that rules all. No other building in the state even comes close. It really is a fantastic example of it’s era and attractive in it’s on modern/post-modern right.
Just today I figured out that the Bath Building is actually not the North Korean embassy.
nice pic, it has that “my 70’s kodak film is fading” look.
Oh, yes. The Bath Building would make a nice sci-fri movie set back drops. Those 60 designers and architechs were really going for those geometric designs!!
You always write interesting posts, keep up the good work!
