    Man oh man, I <3 Klausie’s!

I love Klausie’s too, but I usually stick to a pepperoni slice. Now way I’m paying $4.00 - $4.50 for a small slice of pie & $25 for a whole pie? Who can afford pizza that is $25?

Mark, you must not eat Capitol Creations or Lilys Pizza very often. If you’re not eating Dominoes or Papa Johns, your large pizza costs $19-$26. Klausie’s is $3-$4.50 per slice, 8 slices to a pie, you’re getting $3 off for cheese or pepperoni at $21; the $25 pies offer about the same discount. Toppings, unfortunately, cost money.

I agree Mark.  I think there is a premium because it’s from a food truck, and the trucks seem like the hip thing to do now.

Yeah, I just got my lasix surgery done in the womens room at the Shell station.
My sight is killer now but the procedure costs a bit more than in a physician’s office.

Actually I do eat at Lilly’s now and then, but have the same complaint about price. There are many other local pizza joints that offer quality toppings on a large pie for around $13-$14. Yeah toppings aren’t free but $25 for a pie is a joke (whether Klaussie’s or Lily’s).

Klaussie’s and Lily’s are far and away the best pizza places in the area so I understand them costing more.

Give me a break.  Please let’s not compare Klaussie’s to any of the decent pizza places in Raleigh.  That picture says microwaved pizza with thawed out processed meat. greta for late night drunk fest or fair food, but let’s get real people.

I never really got the love for Lilly’s pizza. I find it much too doughy and preparation is often inconsistent (sometimes burnt, other times undercooked). I feel like people enjoy it more for the hipster confines, employees, and the chance to name drop it. Never had Klausies, but $26 for a pie, especially one out of a truck is a bit ridiculous. What’s next, rickshaws converted into pizza carts and charging $10 a slice?

I say Bella Mia is far and way the best pizza in the triangle (probably NC)...and it’s not close.  The mozzarella on one of their pizzas…it had been made in Italy three days prior to being on my pizza.  Next I have Ruckus, then Moonlight, then Capital Creations.  Lilly’s does’t do it for me…basically for the same reasons Pizano mentioned.  I’ll have to try Klausies though, to see what it’s all about.

I ate Klausie’s for the first time last Friday at Music on the Porch.  I have to say—ick.  Much too doughy, not enough cheese, and very messily put together.  I won’t eat it again, whether at $4 a slice or $2.

Bella Mia is the best overall followed by Bella monica. My favorite pizza of all time is from Bella Monica, it’s “the Bella” with light pepperoni added to it. They can go a little overboard with their pepperoni.

i used to work on the truck, the dough is made by the owner in a kitchen, but cooked on the truck. everything else is done on the truck by one person while the owner works the window. there is a rare two deck baker’s pride stone pizza oven converted to run on propane, in which everything is cooked.

nothing you’ll get from klausie’s has ever seen a microwave.

There’s a reason Lilly’s didn’t survive when they opened a second store by the Raleigh Grand.  The location wasn’t Five Points where it would be hip to pay $25 for a pizza.

Lilly’s second location didn’t survive because they would have 10+ employees standing around doing nothing most days of the week.  They were slammed weekends and evenings but their customer service was abysmal.  Eventually having too many wallflowers on the payroll cuts into your profits.  It also doesn’t help that when that strip mall first opened up they were charging absurdly high rent.  I don’t know what they charge now but I had looked into it for my own business and balked.
