From fighter jets to Christmas Toilets, Fayetteville Street has seen its fair share of spectacles since reopening over five years ago. But, the 2012 New Year's celebrations took the prize for a lot of Raleigh residents with the massive ferris wheel that was constructed at the corner of Fayetteville and Hargett Streets last weekend. Lines to ride the wheel snaked to the capitol building and the wait hovered around 2 1/2 hours.
