Zhenya is from Belarus (next to Russia) and he stayed with my family over the summer. He doesn’t have a camera but my brother-in-law let him use his all summer. He carried it everywhere and would make me stop the car to take random pictures all over Raleigh. This photo is of the railroad track running over Western Blvd. - Staci Thornton

This is actually one of the worst rated bridges in the state of NC. I think it’s slated to be replaced at some point in the close future.
Whoops, wrong bridge. Ignore my previous comment. I didn’t see that you were referring to the rail bridge and not the bridge down by Pullen.
Great shot man! Love the way the vines mimic the tracks. I walked across this bridge many years ago when I was younger (and more daring). Got half way across when I realized it was not the brightest thing to do. Rather than turning around, though, I kept on going, as the distance traversed would be the same either way. I fully expected a freighter to come along at any moment. That bridge is a LOT higher up looking from on it rather than from under it!
RB : I know people who tried the same thing and had to hang underneath as the train passed. They survived (obviously) but the story scared the hell out of me.
Hi! Its realy cool that you like my photo of that bridge!;)
I have a lot of good photos ![]()
