The Weekend in Shows

As you know, Thursday night is when the weekend unofficially starts.

8/16 - The Pour House - THE LONERS, THE ADULT FILM MAKERS, THE HEAVY PETS
The Loners are back in full swing. They put on one of the most best live-in-a-bar shows in Raleigh. Period. $6

8/17 - Downtown Events Center - FILTHYBIRD, NONCANON (probably $5-$6)
Flithybird hail from Greensboro and recently put out a record,Southern Skies, that is worth a listen. For fans of Slowdive and good, old country songs.

also, The Bowerbirds and Phon play a benefit for LUMP Gallery. Catch this one first, then stroll down the street to the DEC.

8/19 - The Brewery - VALIENT THORR, ASG, RIVERBOAT GAMBLERS ($12)
If you want to go out with a bang on Sunday, I recommend this set. Sure, its a little pricey, but the sweat on your face will thank you.
