The Contemporary Art Museum of Raleigh is hosting a Happy Hour tonight from 6:30 to 9pm. Join them for drinks, music, and progressive artwork by Dan Steinhilber and Naoko Ito.

Steinhilber is a Washington D.C. based artist who creates three-dimensional pieces to allow the viewer to more fully participate in the art. For this exhibition, called Hold On, Loosely, Steinhilber took inspiration from CAM Raleigh’s building, examining the “conceptual connections between the building’s history as a produce warehouse and its future as a museum space for rotating exhibitions”, according to CAM Raleigh’s website.

New York based Ito is holding her first solo exhibition show in CAM Raleigh as part of the Emerging Artist Series. Ito’s show comments on man’s desire to contain nature, with trees preserved in mason jars, delicate wires and crystals.

Local DJ DJ Chico Scott will be playing from 6-9pm.

Admission to the event is 5 dollars. CAM Raleigh members, children 10 and under, members of the military, members of NARM and Mod/Co, and NC State students, staff, and faculty are admitted free.
