Tift Merritt and Paintings Under The Stars

At 8pm this Saturday, August 23, 2008, grammy nominated singer-songwriter Tift Merritt will perform as a part of the Arts in the Museum Park concert series. Gates open at 6, so show up early to see “Paintings Under the Stars,” a painting exhibition of NC LowDefPop artists organized by Onion Head Monster artist, Paul Friedrich.

“Paintings Under the Stars” will be on display beside the main stage and will feature works by: Paul Friedrich, Casey Porn, Jodi Hoover, David Eichenberger and Greg Clayton. All of the painters are considered leader in the NC LowDefPop Art Movement, which is defined by the use of pop culture, inviting colors, bold images, humor and outlines.
