Not sure if this will be funny or not! I recall seeing Chris Rocks comedic come back at Charlie Goodnights a few years ago and it was NOT FUNNY! No Joke!!! HaHaHa! grin

I was at the Chris Rock show and it was great.  Brought a yellow legal pad up to the stage and tried all sorts of material.  Very funny and very interesting watching a comedial work thorough new jokes and test them out.  Plus he was up there for a long time, I want to say almost 2 hours for the show we were at.

    I suggest avoiding it.

I saw him at Charlie Goodnights years ago.  One of the few shows I went to where no-one laughed and people walked out.  And just in case you’re wondering, the people of his own race were the first to leave, so I don’t think it was a cultural misunderstanding.  He was too f’d up to deliver a joke.

I was at the Rock show as well, I remember finding it funny. More importantly it was a chance to see one of the better comedians I’ve heard try out jokes and be casual about it. Like hackles said, he also went for about twice as long as a comedian normally would.

I’ve heard some Tracy Morgan standup and it’s nothing I would pay 45 to see ever. However, something tells me that with his recent stint on 30 Rock and in movies, he may have material that goes above and beyond describing himself having sex and 30 minutes on balls. Then again, maybe not.

I also saw him in Raleigh a few years ago when some of the crowd walked out. It was worse than un-funny. I personally loved Tracy Morgan on SNL and LOVE him on 30 Rock but his stand up in Raleigh was worse than horrible.

@Kevin - “the people of his own race were the first to leave”..haha. Were you referring to *whisper voice* “black people”? ha

I saw a black comedian at CG once. It rained really hard that night and I got kinda drunk.

This is somehow relevant to Tracy Morgan performing there.

Did the people of his own raceget kinda drunk too?

In reference to Chris rock, his last time at Goodnights was a tune up as host of the MTV VMA awards. He used a legal pad of new material to see what worked with a live audience. Tracy Morgan has two sides Def Jam and HBO clean. I saw the first set he did at Goodnights and it was a filthy DEF JAM X rated rant. People of all races left early! He did the same bit two hours later, yet cleaned it up, and it was one of the best stand up performances that i have ever seen! He was sober for both sets!

I saw Tracy at Charlie Goodnight’s too.  You couldn’t pay me to go back to see him again. worst show ever.

(and race has nothing to do with it)
