Not downtown true, but as I’ve said before, I really like that they (like our Costco) chose an older, established retail area well in the central part of the city, instead of bulldozing a forest on the edge of town and adding more sprawl (the last thing Raleigh needs more of). So kudos to them on that point!
Who cares if its downtown? North Raleigh FTW!
Glad its not downtown. It’s bad enough having to drive all the way down to Wade Ave. for Whole Foods
Not DTR—- but ITB!!! Yes!
(Amen, RaleighRob!)
Non-snarky opening day report: Very long lines at checkout, running back up into the aisles. Cute, Raleigh-centric tweaks to the typical Polynesian paintings on the walls. Full parking lot, and there are musicians playing steel drums outside the door. So happy to have this store finally open!
I was there this morning and it was very crowded but jovial. Like Bonnaroo with capri pants. Happy to have it in the neighborhood!
Gratefully not downtown. Costco and TJ’s are where they are because, in part, it’s cheap real estate with no neighborhood NIMBY issues.
yes, very crowded. went about 10-11ish. but all there were seemingly OK with it. I did a ‘lap’ and then left.
There is plenty 2BuckChuck to go ‘round…I’ll get mine next week sometime.
ShabaShabu was busy putting up their “We’re Open for Lunch banner”-haha. Coat tails, boys, Coat tails.
I went on opening day around 4:45 and it was busy and the parking lot was full, but I found the items I needed and checked out pretty quickly. So glad to have this store in the neighborhood!
