The rumor is, and Cameron Village’s website confirms, that a place called Uncle Fatty’s Drive-In will be coming to Cameron Village.
With the words Fatty and Drive-In beside each other in a restaurant name, it doesn’t bode well for the belly.
Where will it be on Woodburn Road? And what kind of Drive-In are we talking? Sonic? In-and-Out burger is a hip destination for the masses in the Southwest US. The Dixie Drive-In was popular in my hometown. Then there’s always Arnold’s Drive-In. Maybe Richie, Potsie and Fonze will stop in for a shake. Ayyyyyy!
Guess that takes care of the Andy’s rumor too.

Wow…and I thought Cam Vill would have a traffic problem with Chick-Fil-A having a drive-thru, but a Drive-In?? On Woodburn? I don’t see how??
(Maybe in the lot in front of Rite-Aid…but that’s often used as overflow for employees of other stores from what I’m told?)
drive-in, cameron village… kind of mutually exclusive ideas, imo.
Looks like it’s in place of the proposed “Burger Dawgz” location beside Piccolo Italia and Ten Thousand Villages.
I’m willing to bet it’s not an actual Drive-In. Kind of like Mo’s Diner isn’t an actual Diner. Just my $.02.
GoGoRaleigh.com says it will be next to Piccola Italia (sp?)... but I wonder exactly where it will be fitting. If it’s in that section of CV, I’m assuming it won’t actually be drive-anything.
Sounds great either way…add a chik-fil-a and Cameron Village will be in for some gridlock!
Yuck. Could they have chosen a less appealing name than “Uncle Fatty’s”?
Yeah, not a great name…but I can get past that for some tasty burgers!
Darn it!! I thought by the headline that we were getting a Drive-in movie theater!!! Fark! That would be awesome!
Uncle Fattys would be the all time best name for a drive in movie theatre!!
I think it’s a great name!
Is it locally owned?
Is that really the logo?
Based on the “graphic by New Raleigh” post script…I would probably say NO!
FYI—that address looks to be the former locale of the framing shop (_______’s Fine Art?). It’s not a huge space, FWIW, but it’s not doing anything by being empty.
We need some decent restaurants in Cam. Village. ‘Bout time!
LOL - Paige, what do you call the restaurants that are there now?
Not as good as Chargrill.
Billy, did you go today for the opening?
