I will not be there but alas, Busy Bee is having a beer dinner with Unibroue later this month!

This was quite a good deal, and tasty beer.

However, this was a testament as to why you DO NOT hire a DJ for a beer tasting.

why was the DJ an issue?

I agree the music was too loud. I could barely talk to people right next to me. No offense to DJ Special Guest though, his music was awesome. Just needed to be turned down a bit. This was a 6pm beer tasting, not a late night club scene.

Also, I will be somewhat critical of Sitti on this event. They were not prepared for this event and there really wasn’t that big of a turnout. Took 20 minutes to actually get a flight of beer, and we were the first ones there. Apparently they didn’t have enough glasses to go around. Not really sure what the problem was.

I had a good time, and hope they will do it again, especially with good beer like Unibroue which is not widely available in Raleigh. Just make sure you have everything in order when you say the event will start!

yes, agreed, the music wasn’t bad, just not right for the atmosphere, and not at the right volume.

Also about Sitti, the staff was very friendly and helpful, but they did seem to not be entirely prepared.

But hey, keep having 10 dollar flights of good beer, and I’ll gladly wait.

For Sitti’s first tasting, I think last night was pretty successful. We arrived a bit later so maybe we missed the glass shortage but, all in all, cool location, unique beer, and great food (as always! I highly recommend the shrimp appetizer.)I have to agree that for that time/occasion the music was a little loud…hopefully an easy fix next time around? I’m really glad to see them finally using the courtyard area because it really is a fantastic space. I hope to see it full more often with regular business and special events. Does anyone know if they have an online calendar of events?

I was there and pretty much agree with everyone.  The music was good, but very loud for that time of day.  The beer was tasty and the representative from Unibroue was very nice/informative.  I couldn’t find the event listed anywhere but NewRaleigh, which could have explained the lower turn out.

Thanks to everyone who came out for the tasting! I appreciate everyone’s honest criticism as well, and we have definitely taken notes!

Our next event will be Thursday July 9
with Brooklyn Brewery. Event will start at 5:30—-and don’t worry -we will be prepared and you will be able to hear one another. Thanks again for your support and we look forward to seeing you all again soon.
