Video for Woods by The Rosebuds

Loud Planes Fly Low, the new album by The Rosebuds, came out last week and has been on repeat for a while here at New Raleigh.

One of the standout tracks on the album is definitely the keyboard and drum-driven Woods. The band relesed a gorgeous video for the song today which shows Ivan Howard in two lights; one of him in a staticy video transmission reminiscent of Max Headroom, and the other of him catching some waves in Rockaway Beach in Queens, NY. Those were "two of the most freezing days of my life", Howard told us about the shooting of the cooly-lit waves footage. The slightly eerie, yet beautifully composed video (directed by Steve Choo), parallels the emotional context and pace of the song perfectly.

The Rosebuds are currently on tour and you can catch them opening for Bon Iver at the Downtown Raleigh Amphitheater on July 29th. Also, if you hvaen't picked up a copy of the new album, Schoolkids has quite a good amount on both vinyl and disc.
