Vintage Nation: A Welcomed Addition to Downtown Retail

Brother and sister team, Marin and Nina Marinov, have brought new life to the 200 block of Wilmington Street with the opening of their store, Vintage Nation. Nestled above House of Style, the store carries a wide array of vintage items from clothing and footwear to a few furniture items and books. Along with the vintage, there is a wonderful selection of house plants, perfumes, fresh cut soaps, and jewelry.

The six-week-old store also plans to jump on the First Friday circuit, and will feature different artists each month on a display cleverly pieced together from old doors. One of this month’s artists, J.B. Davis, is an Expressionist painter out of Cary whose selected paintings are slightly Klimt-esque in feel, and serve as a nice compliment to the brightly colored assortment of goods that pepper the store.

The success of a store in this location would definitely help to ease the minds of people who are still hesitant to come downtown to set up shop.  Keep ‘em coming.
