Wake County Public Libraries hosts its annual book sale, with more than 300,000 books, beginning today and going through Sunday, November 23rd. The event will be held at 4121 New Bern Ave. in the former Super Kmart building off Business 64 in east Raleigh. Books are sorted on tables by generic subject and are either donations or books removed due to decreased demand. Cash and checks are the only forms of payment accepted. Customers may bring hand trucks or carts.

The public is invited to attend the sale beginning Wednesday, November 19, at noon, and running through Sunday, November 23, at 6 p.m. The hours of the public sale are:

  * Wednesday, November 19: noon till 9 p.m.
  * Thursday and Friday, November 20 and 21: 10 a.m. till 9 p.m.
      o Prices the first three days are $4 for hardbound books; $1 for paperbacks.

  * Saturday, November 22: 8 a.m. till 8 p.m.
      o Prices on Saturday are $2 for hardbound books; 50 cents for paperbacks.

  * Sunday, November 23: 10 a.m. till 6 p.m.
      o Prices are $5 per box, $2 per bag, with the library providing boxes and bags.

Profits from the sale are credited as library revenue in the Wake County General Fund and help to establish the book budget for the following year.
