Watch Hurricanes Games on the RBC Center Lawn

Wembledon has Henman Hill, Raleigh could have the Brind’Amour Bank or Staal Slope. We know the Canes fans are quite active in the parking lots at the RBC Center and there is a wager on the Canes/Penguin series. So why not create full-on lawn parties in the RBC parking lot to up the excitement. Sure enough, the next two games could be just as fun in the parking lot as inside the rink.

Jon Chase, Director of Promotions & Fan Development Marketing for the Carolina Hurricanes, announced today that the Hurricanes’ front lawn parties will remain open during all home games during the Eastern Conference Finals for fans that do not have tickets to the games. During the games, fans on the front lawn will be able to watch the games on televisions inside party tents if weather permits.

RBC Center parking lots will open at 2:30 p.m., and front lawn parties will begin at 5:30 p.m. prior to every Hurricanes home game in the Eastern Conference Finals. The parties on the RBC Center’s South Lawn will include inflatables, street hockey, face painting, personalities from the Hurricanes’ flagship radio station 99.9 FM The Fan, and live music from Bommerang (5/23), Suckerpunch (5/26) and Design (5/31). Food and beverage will be available to purchase.

During the Eastern Conference Finals, the first 15,000 fans inside the RBC Center will receive commemorative game cards, and the first 16,000 fans will receive Hurricanes rally towels. The Hurricanes warning siren will be sounded by former Hurricanes winger Bates Battaglia prior to Game 3, and former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach, Super Bowl champion and Raleigh resident Bill Cowher, prior to Game 4. All games of the Eastern Conference Finals will start at 7:30 p.m.
