The North Carolina Theatre is wrapping up the 2009 season with the heavy hitter, West Side Story. The modern take on Shakepeare’s Romeo & Juliet opens this Saturday, October 17th, and will run through Sunday, October 25th at Memorial Auditorium in the Progress Energy Center.
West Side Story has been a pivotal piece of theater history ever since it hit Broadway in 1957. The classic tale of forbidden love between Tony and Maria has made it one of the most popular musicals of all time, and is definitely a must-see while it’s playing here.
Ticket prices range from $26 to $76, and can be purchased at Ticketmaster or at the Progress Energy Center box office. Visit the North Carolina Theatre website for more information.
