Where to see Raleigh Fireworks on July 4th

The Raleigh Parks and Recreation Department presents a July 4 celebration at the N.C. State Fairgrounds from 2:30 to 10:30 p.m. Activities include carnival games, rides and inflatables, a magic show, pony rides and the Mustang Club Car Show. Fireworks begin at 9:15 p.m. Admission and activities are free.

If you are planning on going just for the fireworks- be warned- mass insanity will ensue.  Raleigh folk take their fireworks seriously!  Traffic on 440/1 will backup and people will park on both sides of the highway through the area over Wade Avenue and Hillsborough street.
