As stated on Monday, the lineup for the 7th Annual WKNC Double Barrel Benefit is here and as usual, it will showcase a handful of up and coming local bands. The two night concert will be at The Pour House on Friday February 5th and Saturday February 6th.
A few of the bands, Veelee, Max Indian, Spider Bags and The Tender Fruit, gathered a lot of freshman buzz in 2009 while Roman Candle and Midtown Dickens’ names have been around the area for a few years, each band gaining more steam as the continue to play more shows in the Triangle.
The Double Barrel Benefit, which usually sells out both nights is only $7 in advance and $9 at the door (if any tickets are left) for each night. Tickets are available at WKNC.org and The Pour House. Two night passes can be picked up at Schoolkids Records on Hillsborough Street.
Below are the schedules for both nights, in order of appearance:
Friday
The Light Pines
Veelee
Bellafea
Max Indian
Saturday
The Tender Fruit
Midtown Dickens
Spider Bags
Roman Candle

The Light Pines are great. Do not miss them, ya’ll.
Slightly disappointing after last year’s great line-up.
Spider Bags and Veelee are excellent.
I will go anywhere anytime to see Max Indian. The Light Pines were one of my favorite discoveries at the Drughorse Collective Holiday Party last year. I’ve also heard great things about Spider Bags. Its also great to see Roman Candle coming to Raleigh again. This should be a great show.

I think I might rather see Rat Jackson that saturday for free, seems like a good lineup, but not the great one I was expecting.
What exactly were you expecting, Cheers? Rat Jackson?
While I’ve seen all but one of the bands perform and they’re all solid, I also agree that the line-up is not as exciting as in past years. I’m sure the turnout will still be good though.
