WUNC launches iPhone Application

Although NPR has its own iPhone application for streaming various public radio shows and stations across the country, it takes about 5 clicks (taps on the screen) before you can get WUNC streaming on the go. WUNC has solved that by creating a direct-to-stream application for your iPhone.

The application, when launched from the iPhone, connects directly to WUNC’s live stream, panning through a few photos of the studio spaces around the Triangle. From the homepage you can click on the information button where you will find a link to Laura Leslie’s Blog Isaac Hunter’s Tavern and also a Pledge button. The application’s homepage also shows local weather in your current location. A nice plus for a simple, but very usable application.

Get the WUNC iPhone Application (iTunes link) or go to WUNC’s website for more info.

Also, WUNC kept it local on multiple accounts and had TouchCentric, a Raleigh based tech group to create the application.
