The Race To Space: Alley Cat This Saturday

Forget the XPrize -Raleigh has its own space program. Saturday is the big one, cyclists will be sent on interstellar missions like the city has never seen before. If you like biking but have never tried an Alley Cat race- this would be a great first race to try. The ‘races’ are fun light-hearted and social in a way that your traditional bike race just isn’t.  This Alley Cat is being organized by one of Raleigh’s most creative young minds: Miles Holst.  Between Miles and the space theme its sure to be a once in a life time space mission.

AIA Triangle Awards Banquet and Lecture

The past year has been an interesting one for the new Contemporary Art Museum in Downtown Raleigh.  Proposals were made for a new complex just before the condo boom slowed down.  Money was tight, so they decided to have a benefit party at a mall?  All that said, tonight, CAM will host it’s first event, The AIA-Triangle Awards Banquet and Lecture, in years at its current location in the warehouse district.  The public is invited, so bring your best black outfit and check out some of the best architecture in the region.

Wolf Parade Coming to Raleigh’s Disco Rodeo

Disco Rodeo is one of the lesser known venues in Raleigh over the past few years.  But, it has been the venue that has brought the biggest rock n roll acts to town, including Interpol, Pixies, and Flaming Lips, to name a few.  While it’s hard to compare Wolf Parade to any of these bands, they are sure to sell out the space.
