This First Friday will be the premiere of the new Curtis Brown Photography Studio, located at the corner of Glenwood Avenue and Peace St. Brown has made a name for himself locally producing stunning portraits for clients as well as documenting the works of the North Carolina Theater. His work can be found at his website which includes a wide range of his work from the most recent to some of his original subjects.

Yes, you read that headline correctly.  Raleigh’s Lincoln Theatre has recruited one of the most, if not THE most, influential rap groups to grace its stage in April.  Their first album Return to the 36 Chambers was an underground hit and I still fondly remember waiting in line at midnight at a local record store in my hometown to buy WuTang Forever in the mid 90s.  Almost every original Wu-member that will be on stage has released their fair share of solo albums and collaborated on each other other member’s albums.  Prepare for the Ruckus.

While last night’s storm added more than a foot of water to Falls lake, today’s council meeting decidedly pushed the city toward a tiered pricing structure for Raleigh water services. The program is expected to start next spring- following upgrading of the billing software.

Additionally the council approved new water inspectors that would be visiting businesses and apartment complexes to insure low-flow faucets and shower-heads are being used.  While the enforcement seems harsh it certainly seems necessary considering the current situation.
