Stephen Merritt has a handful of side projects, solo projects and just plain fun projects but the one he is known for since 1991 is The Magnetic Fields. He will bring his 69 Love Songs and more lyrically laced 80s synth-pop to Meymandi Concert Hall on October 18th. You too can be the luckiest guy on the lower east side….of Downtown Raleigh.
If you haven’t seen Of Montreal live the past few times they have hit the Triangle, you will have another chance, this time it will be on the glorious stage of Durham’s Carolina Theatre and on the same day (October 7th) that the band releases their new album Skeletal Lamping. This show will be no less than spectacular and local thrift stores should stock up now.
We announced back in April that Wolf Parade will be coming to Raleigh for the first time (after a couple of shows in Carrboro) on July 29th. This show was initially scheduled for Disco Rodeo but has been moved to Lincoln Theatre in Downtown Raleigh.
Go over to NPR’s All Songs Considered and vote for Bon Iver’s album For Emma, Forever Ago for album of the year (so far). Maybe we can push Vernon past Death Cab.
