WolfPack BasketBall Diaries No. 8

Thoughts on Florida State and Duke.  I’m really not into this 1 Win, 1 Loss pattern we’re starting to develop.  But hey, there are 10 games to go.

Thoughts on Miami, Georgia Tech and the good things to come.
So what if we are (1-3) right now?  There’s 12 more games left, people.
Come on.....don’t be like that.....Come on!

WolfPack Basketball Diaries No. 6

Okay, kids:  Today in math class, we are going to learn the concept of numbers and how they are applied in real life.  5 losses is more than 4 losses.  Percentage of shooting for your team is less than the opposing team.  Your number of turnovers reached 23.  Is that a lot?  When you do the math, what adds up?
You + NC State = Frustrated

Run for Young 5K Walk/Run

This 5K “Run"was organized to honor Sadiki Young, a senior at Wakefield High who was killed as a passenger in a drunk driving car accident on January 14, 2007. The race will start at Christ Church, follow Edenton and Hillsborough Streets to the NCSU Bell Tower and then double back to finish at Christ Church.  Proceeds will benefit the Youth Endowment Fund, started in Sadiki’s honor, at Christ Church where he was an acolyte.  Proceeds will also go toward the Wakefield High “Think First” Program, an alcohol awareness program for teenagers.

This will be my first 5K race, so I’m keeping my personal expectations in check.  This is a great and worthy cause and I’ll be out there to enjoy the (hopefully nice) weather and scenery.  It will also be a good opportunity to get a new perspective on the Morgan Street round-about situation!
