Borders Announces Store in Downtown Raleigh, April Fools

imageThe mega corporate, yet now urban-friendly Borders has announced that it will add another store to the Raleigh area.  The new store will be in Downtown Raleigh and two locations are being considered.

Convenient as Can Be

Ever wonder where you can buy a six pack of beer in downtown Raleigh?  There is Peace Street Market, the mart at The Morgan Center, Capital City Grocery and a handful of gas stations that surround the downtown grid.  But what about within the main grid, those who live and work in downtown?  There isn’t a place from my understanding but that is about to change as a new mart creeps its way into an old storefront on Wilmington Street.

imageIs Raleigh’s largest and hippest independent music store facing extinction?  News has been circulated today that the Chapel Hill location is calling it quits.  Could this mean that the Hillsborough Street location may be next in the demise of independent music stores?

Rosenthal Wine Merchant Dinner at Poole’s

My new favorite flavors come from Ashley Christensen’s kitchen at Poole’s. Tomorrow night,  January 29th, Christensen is teaming with the Rosenthal Wine Merchant to offer a four course meal paired with appropriate grapes.  The price is $65.  It all starts at 6:30.
