Beginning tomorrow, Thursday 4.17.08, Wake Co. voters can cast their votes for the May 6, 2008 Primary election at designated locations shown below. You can vote early until Saturday May 6, so why wait in line at your polling place on election day? You can also use this opportunity to register and vote, an option unavailable on election day itself, if you missed the registration deadline.

NC Homebuilders Muscling Up

Greg Flynn has the raw story on Cornerstone Solutions, the evolution of a firm responsible for manufactured ‘grassroots’ campaigns not that different from our favorite, Renew Raleigh.  Members of Cornerstone were apparently responsible for fake citizen groups in support of developing the everglades. Expect to see more stories on ‘astroturf’ in Raleigh in 2008.

Obama Stops in Raleigh Thursday

Presidential hopeful Barack Obama will campaign in Raleigh Thursday, April 17th, at the Kerr Scott Building on Blue Ridge Rd. Grab a ticket between 9:30 am and 9 pm Wednesday at the campaign headquarters, located at 130 E. Morgan St., and skip out on your lunch break to make the talk scheduled for 12:30 pm.

Sono: Raleigh’s Sushi Nazi?

There is a Seinfeld character called the Soup Nazi. His soup is so good there is a line out the door everyday. Customers have to follow a certain protocol or they are kicked out with no soup. A reader pointed out a story on the Consumerist about Sono that didn’t sound too different.  There are plenty of sushi places in Raleigh that beat it on value and decor; Sono has to differentiate based on service and in my experience it’s pretty average.  Apparently the service can be way worse than average though; Sono seems to be really pissed if you don’t follow protocol:
