The Comprehensive Plan and a Film on Sprawl
There are two events Wednesday night related to urban revitalization and transportation choices. The first, organized by the Sierra Club, is a showing of the movie Sprawling from Grace: Driven to Madness at Colony Theatre from 7-9pm. The second is the City of Raleigh’s open house for the draft Raleigh 2030 Comprehensive Plan at the new Convention Center also from 7-9pm. (Registration begins at 6:30pm).

Cloud Chamber @ North Carolina Museum of Art NCMA
Tucked back into the woods off the Reedy Creek Greenway is the NCMA’s Cloud Chamber for the Trees and Sky by Chris Drury, a British artist who has completed commissioned works all over the world. The Cloud Chamber is a camera obscura device that projects the sky and trees onto the interior surface of this small grotto-like structure. The Cloud Chamber on New Raleigh.

Blankface Reunion Show Interview
The first time I spoke with Blankface guitarist Mitchell Marlow he was shopping for a robe. “I wear my girlfriend’s robe all the time and it’s so soft, it’s like hanging out in a blanket,” he said. “So I thought I’d go out and get myself one.” The next time I spoke with him, later that evening, he was wearing it. “It’s pretty comfortable,” Marlow said. That about sums up Marlow and Blankface, a laid back punk band that made music at an early age and has decided to have a reunion show since all the original members are now in the Chapel Hill area.
