Fayetteville Street Follies
6:30 on Friday and Saturday nights, 2:00 on Sunday
Raleigh City Museum
Following the success of last year’s Main Street/Fayetteville Street, the Raleigh City Museum and Burning Coal are excited to announce our next collaboration, Fayetteville Street Follies. The production, with a script by Oakwood writer Ian Finley, and featuring actors from Burning Coal Theatre Company, will visit several sites along Fayetteville Street to bring to life the stories of Raleigh’s hooligans, heroes, crooks, and cowards. Examples include the luxurious imprisonment of Josephus Daniels, the unlikely founding of Dorothea Dix Hospital, and the old Governor's Palace and its unusual guests.
The promenade performance will begin at the Raleigh City Museum and travel along Fayetteville Street. Performances are Friday and Saturday, October 16th and 17th at 6:30p.m. and Sunday, October 18th at 2:00p.m. Tickets for the event are $12 for museum members, $15 for adults, $10 for students, and may be obtained by calling (919) 834-4001 or visiting www.burningcoal.org.
