This special showing of the new documentary, Food, Inc. will be a foodraiser for the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, which runs a new "Plant a Row for the Hungry" program, teaches Operation Frontline classes in nutrition, cooking, and household budgeting, and more. The proceeds will go to the program in the form of fruits and vegetables from one or more local farmers who use organic or sustainable practices.
According to its website, Food Inc. "exposes America's industrialized food system and its effect on our environment, health, economy, and workers' rights."
There's a review of the film on Toxic Free NC's blog fair ground.
The suggested minimum donation for tickets will be $10, with $6 going to the theater for the actual ticket price and the other $4 or more to be a donation to the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle.
