  Most reasonable people aren’t arguing that the Scandinavian Muhammed cartoons are funny.

  The point is that unfunny, potentially offensive Scandinavian cartoonists should be able to continue being unfunny and potentially offensive in their work with a reasonable expectation that they won’t be murdered for it.
