Full Frame is in Full Effect

Voices of El-Sayed wooed the audience this afternoon with a story of an Israeli Bedouin tribe with one of the highest proportions of deaf.  The story explored the village, a humble mass of homes off the Israeli power grid.  Deaf children in this village are offered the opportunity by Israeli health care for cochlear implants. The documentary follows the path of one family with a deaf child and their struggle to teach him to hear and finally to speak.

Director Oded Adomi Leshem has captured how we take hearing for granted and the power ot the aural experience.

Tonight is the world premier of Sons of Cuba a film about the Havana Boxing Academy.  Show starts at 11.  Get your tickets at the Durham Convention Center.
