Business Lunch, Live Music, Wine List
At the corner of West and Jones, 42nd Street Oyster Bar offers a delightful selection of oysters (steamed, fried, or raw), grilled fishes, steaks, and many other pastas, salads, and steamed or fried seafood. Great selection of local, regional, and imported beer and wine with live music Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. This restaurant and bar has a thick, rich history in a historic building.
If you like fried seafood, then this place is for you. All you can eat hushpuppies and cold beer. Go for the history, the grease and the suds, otherwise don’t go. Authentically “old school”, nothing else.
Add together the fantastic food, great beer selection, unparalleled atmosphere and almost nightly local music and you have one of the best establishments in Raleigh or the Triangle for that matter. The Oysters are fantastic and this is a great place to either eat or just go have a beer and relax with some friends.
