Great changes with the new food menu.  We sampled the BLTA, Asian Chicken Wrap and Reuben - all were delicious and presented well.  With the $3 pint special on Tuesdays, this is your place for a good meal at a decent price with the best view of the Raleigh skyline!

What a view of the Raleigh skyline from the deck at the Boylan Bridge Brewpub. Amazing - check it out at sunset!  Enjoy a local brew, on the hoppy side of bitter.  Go elsewhere for food unless you just can’t tear yourself away from the vista.

Great beer, ok food, beautiful view.  This place has quickly become a Raleigh landmark.  A must visit for any one who wants to have the best of Raleigh beer culture.

So, here’s the deal.  Boylan Bridge Brewpub has a tongue twister of a name and a great view, but so far that’s about all its got.  Let’s be honest, the place lacks character.  I like to think that restaurants have a soul and well, Boylan Bridge Brewpub has no soul.  Not to mention the fact that I’m pretty sure our server would disappear only to reappear even higher than she already was.  Seriously lady, I just wanted a drink and you wandered in and out of the pub four times with no drink and carrying nothing else…apparently fifth time is the charm at this place.  The food was average at best.  I ordered the fish and chips and while the fish was acceptable the fries…horrible.  So, in summary Boylan Bridge Brewpub lacks soul, has crappy service/food, and a limited drink menu.  I will more than likely try the place again and I am honestly hoping for a better experience.  The place would be a great venue for some live music this summer, so I hope they get over their music boycott.

I LOVE this place and am so glad it has opened. What better place to take in a few pints and admire the breathtaking view of the Raleigh skyline. The beer is amazing, although I hope they will release some lighter alternatives and something along the lines of a pilsner or kolsh as the weather continues to warm up. The tables even have electrical outlets so you can plug in your laptop and get some work done. Boylan Bridge is open all day long so you can stop by anytime. I muight also add, unfortunately, that the food needs some improvement. Some things are already perfect - for example, the onion rings are amazingly light, flaky, and delicious. And the spinach salad with grilled chicken is spot on. But the engineers club sandwich was served on plain white bread (untoasted) and run-of-mill fillings. The bratwurst is pretty good, but on one occassion the bun was served wet. Also I’ve noticed that the angus burger is served on regular sandwich bread rather than a burger bun. These are minor gripes, admittedly, and I’m sure the brewpub is still working the kinks out and focusing primarily on the beer. But I would hate to see this place develop the reputation of “great beer, bad food” like so many other places around town. To be fair I have not tried the pizza or fish n’ chips, so maybe I’ve just been missing out on the house specialties. Who knows. In any event, I’m sure eventually I will try it all. I can’t seem to stay away from this place! Just my two cents, take it for what it’s worth.
