I really wanted to like this place—but it was incredibly bad - maybe the worst I have been two within the beltline. Pre-cooked, pre-processed food with some fresh items - but generally tasteless. I don’t know why this corner spot never can produce a decent restaurant.
Ciago’s is the second incarnation of Hillsborough Street’s Two Guys—same style menu, same folks in charge of the kitchen. The steamed mussels were great, but the pizza and pasta were ordinary.
Calamari was tasteless, and while I appreciated the thinner crust, the pizza was a big disappointment and overpriced. Noticed other diners eating giant servings of pasta - maybe that’s the way to go. The best thing about this place? Peroni on tap.
Great food and desserts!
