Foundation

I have been here many times before and loved it until the other night. A few friends and I went in for some drinks and had a horrible experience. Someone spilled a beer on me and when I asked the bartender for a towel he handed me 3 napkins, ignored me, and was rude the entire time we were there.  When the bartender did not “like” the tip that was left he kicked my friends and I out-physically with his hands.(I have worked in the service industry for over 6 years and always tip graciously even with mediocre service.) Needless to say, we found out that the “bartender” that we received such rude service from was the owner! We will never go back for sure!

By far, the best bar in town for a cocktail.  The outdoor seating area upstairs gives you a great view of downtown.  If you missed the bloodless mary this summer, then I deeply feel sorry for you.  Maybe next year.  I would recommend this bar to anyone who enjoys a drink done right with attention given to all the details.

So, Foundation had been on my list of places that I wanted to try for awhile. Well, I finally made it there last night, and I loved it. I will certainly be going back. The basement atmosphere was cool. I really enjoy that there isn’t smoking, and it is nice that they have outside tables. The drinks are unique and super tasty——like that things are kept as local as possible. My bartender, Kevin, was great——attentive and on top of things. I am looking forward to my next visit which will be sooner rather than later. Cheers!

Love this place!!!  Colas and tonic are made in-house daily.  Signature cocktails are interesting. No TVs which encourages conversation!

Foundation is an interesting take on the basement bar.  All the cocktails, beers and and wines are based around being as locally sourced as possible.  Beers are from the Raleigh area,  Liquor and Wine are from the US.  Smoke free and a max capacity of 49.. foundation is a nice downtown retreat with delicious, albeit higher end cocktails.
