Inside the difficult-to-pronounce Hereghty Patisserie and behind its glass stand rows of delicately assembled gourmet pastries, eager to accompany a cup of rich coffee in the morning, or a glass of wine in the evening.
Nestled in the back of Glenwood Village Shopping Center, this warm haven may be gone by the time you discover it. Don’t be fooled by the clean, refined atmosphere and French script: A coffee and bakery item will cost you the same as at any other coffee shop, and you can get lunch starting at under $5. Day-old scones (as fresh as can be) are only $1.
Not surprising, Hereghty seems to have a small but loyal following, as the friendly staff greets many of their customers by name.
The cafe boasts weekly specials ($5 glasses of wine on Thursdays, $10 for dessert and a glass of wine on Fridays and Saturdays) and occasional live music, in addition to offering catering services and private parties.
Hereghty is a delightful, undiscovered place to retreat from the crowds at other coffee shops, and the perfect way to bide your time while getting your oil changed at the Exxon across the parking lot.
It’s even open late Fridays and Saturdays.
It’s a lovely little French cafe with a nice selection of lunch items and an amazing array of delectable desserts and baked goods. Try the Parisian Macaroons for a sweet treat!
Best place in Raleigh for good authentic French-style pastries. I probably wouldn’t come here for a “quick coffee shop” trip. But for a relaxing, indulging dessert, you can’t go wrong here.
Excellent baked goods and sandwiches. The pasteries are little masterpieces. But don’t expect to get coffee shop service in the morning- these guys will make you wait, and wait, and wait some more….
