If it were possible to give 100 stars, that’s what Coleen and Posh Nosh deserve for the amazing job they did catering our wedding. Seriously. Amazing. From the earliest planning stages, Coleen was on the case. We talked through and planned a menu that was seasonal, locally sourced, personal and versatile—other, more elegant menu items notwithstanding (and it was all delicious, guests still rave about those shrimp and grits) she put up with my rawther tacky ‘tiny pimento cheese sandwich on white bread’ request, (I just NEEDED it, and she didn’t even make a face!) and honored my husband’s Venezuelan heritage by modifying one of his family recipes. She knew our reception venue and the limitations that came with it, anticipated and solved problems almost before they arose, asked after (and then told me where to find) items I hadn’t even thought of, and generally Got The Business Done. I was a pretty inept bride, and I shudder to think what would have happened if we had picked a different caterer; probably Solo cups and no spoons or something. The crew was great, professional, efficient, quick, super. And the food—it really was delicious. You should absolutely use Posh Nosh for any catering needs.
Coleen offers something different: personalized attention to detail. For my husband’s 50th birthday she put together a fabulous dinner party. When the appetizers were passed, guests knew they were in for a treat. Her crew handled everything with aplomb. The food was fantastic and the service superb (ie, hardly noticeable). Plus she handled floral centerpieces, candles, linens, the works. I got dressed and enjoyed the party along with everyone else.
Coleen doesn’t present you with a list of items to choose from. She sits down with you to talk about what type of evening you envision and works with you to come up with a menu. And she knows food. She also paired wines with the various courses. I’ve never had a better experience.
Hi- Coleen Speaks and the team at Posh Nosh made my fiftieth birthday party a fabulous event. My husband surprised my with a great party, and Posh Nosh delivered a sophisticated, beautiful meal with gorgeous appetizers and fabulous main courses.
My family and friends are mostly foodies, and I have many dietary restrictions. I have used caterers and party planners all over the country, and Coleen and crew were tops. The menu was beautiful. Some of my favorites were the heirloom tomatoes stuffed with risotto, and the french lentils with grilled salmon—or maybe it was the stuffed baby zucchini or the hangar steak and grilled vegetables with chimichurru sauce. The birthday cake was beautiful and rich with lemon flavor.
Food can be great, but we all know service makes the experience. The set-up was swift and professional. Gorgeous flatware and napkins exceeded expectations. The bar ran smoothly, the appetizers were plenty, and dishes refilled promptly. Since this was in our home, the ultimate test was clean-up. 45 minutes after the last guest left, our home was immaculate, the leftovers put away, the garbage taken and out, and the staff had gone, leaving us with just our excellent memories.
We will certainly use them again.
